ETHICS

Who made my clothes?

All garments are designed in Australia by Christina Phillips and are produced in a factory with 206 staff members in Guangzhou, China. The factory voluntarily takes part in the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), which is an international initiative for companies committed to improving working conditions in factories and farms worldwide. BSCI unites over 1,000 companies around one common Code of Conduct with the aim to build an ethical supply chain with a step-by-step, development-oriented system. The BSCI Code of Conduct is built on the most important international conventions protecting workers’ rights, notably the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Conventions and recommendations.

BSCI supports companies by providing them with practical management instruments to implement the Code of Conduct and monitor improvements of working conditions in supply chains.

Regular audits are undertaken to ensure that the company are working to an appropriate standard against the 11 principles that create the Code of Conduct.

The principles include areas such as: workers protection, fair remuneration, decent working hours, no child labour, protection of the environment and ethical business behaviour.

You can learn more about the BSCI here.
